Kowmung Music Festival 2006 has been cancelled, but the best is yet to come.

The 10th annual Kowmung Music Festival will be held in 2007.

Oberon – Simply Spectacular!

The Kowmung Music Festival organisers are proud to work closely with the local community and organizations to promote a spectacular part of Australia – the Oberon High Country. Many people travelling from Sydney or further away ‘make a weekend of it', staying in one of the wide choice of B&Bs, guest houses, hotels or motels in the area and taking the opportunity to visit some of the many local attractions. With Easter coinciding with the second weekend of concerts, there is an opportunity for visitors to stay an extra night to take in more of the delights of the Oberon district. In fact, single-night accommodation in Oberon itself is becoming scarce in the Easter weekend!

Oberon's attractions include local wineries, the beautiful countryside around Tarana and Evans Crown, the Jenolan and Abercrombie Caves, the Kanangra-Boyd National Park (through which the pristine Kowmung River flows that lent its name to the festival), trout fishing, bush walking, fossicking, horse trail riding – or just enjoying the beautiful views of the famed farming and forest country of this highland district, or playing a game of friendly and relaxed golf. A great destination just two and a half hours west of Sydney !

And March is mushrooming month on the Oberon plateau – allow another day over Easter to take in this and other experiences! The time to pick Saffron Milk Cap, Bolete and Slippery Jack – delicious mushrooms coveted by top Sydney restaurants. We recommend that you pick up the leaflet and advice at the Oberon Visitor Information Centre.
